Water for sale

Bryn Mawr-based Aqua America Inc. has acquired two water systems and one wastewater system through its subsidaries in Texas and North Carolina.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports the systems serve more than 1,100 of Aqua’s three million customer base. The deal was made for $1.774 million. Aqua came into scrutinty recently when some of its tap water near Villanova was found to have high but safe levels of cancer-causing hexavalent chromium.
