Watching Irene

“All eyes on the East Coast should be trained on the movements of Hurricane Irene, which forecasters say could develop into a major storm…”

 That’s the latest Twitter post from the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center as the storm moves towards the U.S.  The National Weather Service is predicting heavy periods of rain between Friday night and Sunday.  The timing of the storm, with tides at astronomically high levels, could mean tidal flooding during high tide periods this weekend.
