Watchful eye

Until recently, if you were bored and on Princeton University’s campus, you might have enjoyed passing the time watching a live stream of students working in the Forbes College building. According to an article in the Daily Princetonian, until the paper called the college out, it had been livestreaming footage from a surveillance camera through the entire campus network.

Deemed an oversight, the URL for the camera, which is not part of the campus’s larger surveillance network, now has a password and is only accessible to a few people. Many students not only didn’t know about the URL, but were also unaware they were being watched.
