Video: A gorgeous look at iceboating on the Toms River, Barnegat Bay

There’s one group that’s not complaining about the recent deep freeze: iceboaters.

Their skeletal crafts have been slicing and soaring on the frozen Barnegat Bay and Toms River, reaching speeds sometimes exceeding 55 mph, according to Riverside Signal‘s Erik Weber.

Photographer Peter Slack, who rarely misses an opportunity to capture the action — sometimes never possible during a mild winter — shot the high definition video above just days ago. Make sure to click HD1080 for the best possible quality.
