How did this accident happen?

NewsWorks photographer Bas Slabbers saw the aftermath of a car accident in Chestnut Hill on Thursday (7/21) evening around 7:30 p.m. The location is Germantown and Springfield Avenues. This is where the Cin Cin restaurant is.

We called the police and they didn’t even have a record of this happening. Today I talked to people who work around there. Most didn’t even know it happened because they were at home by 7:30 p.m. Those who did see the fire department on scene said they had no idea what happened.

I need your help in reconstructing this accident.

Here’s what we know. The white car was the only car moving. The black car was parked with no occupant.

The white car ended up at the corner of Germantown and Springfield Aves. Both airbags deployed.

The black car is on the sidewalk near Towey’s Tavern.

The big question is how did the white car hit the black car and why are the two cars so far apart.
