Mayor Nutter celebrates official launch of table tennis club

The Trolley Car Table Tennis Club in East Falls celebrated its official grand opening last week on the second level of The Falls Center on Henry Avenue in East Falls.

Mayor Michael Nutter joined in on the fun by competing against eight-year-old Amy Wang, US Table Tennis Champion in the girls under nine category. The club reports that the Mayor was a good sport, scoring only three points against her.

More than 100 people showed up to support the club on Friday night. Since it’s soft launch in January, Club President and Founder, Ken Weinstein says roughly 25 players show up each week to play.

The club offers table tennis lessons on Saturday mornings, tournaments every other month and private parties on weekends.
