Trial date set for Tacony dungeon trio
On Friday, a trial date was set for the three defendants charged with chaining mentally challenged people in a Tacony basement.
Common Pleas Judge Daniel J. Anders scheduled the trial of Linda Ann Weston, Gregory Thomas, and Eddie Wright, to begin on Jan. 28.
According to Philly.com, a charge of promoting prostitution and neglect of a care-dependent person was dropped, but the rest were not.
The defendants are being charged with crimes in connection to a scheme they had been running since 2001 where they beat, starved, and kept victims hostage in order to steal their Social Security checks.
