Tourism suit

Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford has threatened to sue the state of New Jersey for its plan to operate a state-run tourism district in the city.

The proposed district would include the beach, boardwalk, Marina District and Bader Field, and has already passed in the Senate. Among other things, Langford is critical of the state’s plan for law enforcement in the district, which would fall onto Atlantic City taxpayers to cover.

The Press of Atlantic City has continuing coverage of this story.
