Young suspects in woman’s beating are too young to prosecute

Two suspects in the brutal beating and robbery of a woman in Philadelphia’s Juniata neighborhood would not be able to be criminally prosecuted under Pennsylvania law.

Detective Martin Sheeron told the Daily News one of the two remaining suspects is 7 years old, and he believes the other is only 9.
The law stipulates that suspects under 10 not involved in a murder cannot be criminally prosecuted.

On Monday, Minh Tran was sleeping in her apartment on Luzerne Street when she was awoken by three boys who barged in. A 10-year-old boy was arrested Monday after being turned in by his mother.
