NJ Turnpike seeks to eliminate E-ZPass discounts

    Attention drivers:

It may cost you more to use the New Jersey Turnpike.

The Turnpike Authority wants to eliminate the off-peak E-ZPass discount for cars whose accounts are outside the New Jersey E-ZPass system.

The system includes the Turnpike Authority, Delaware River Bay Authority, Delaware River Port Authority, Burlington County Bridge Commission and the South Jersey Transportation Authority.

And keep it legal, folks: Violators and toll cheats would also face a $50 administrative fee instead of $25. Envelopes would be eliminated at unstaffed exact change lanes on the Garden State Parkway. Vehicles would be photographed and motorists would face the administrative fee.
