WALK Against Hate on Sunday

This afternoon, the Eastern Pennsylvania Anti-Defamation League hosts its first annual WALK Against Hate. The idea behind the walk is to make strides toward embracing diversity. Among the walkers will be Quazeem Lipscomb, a rapper with the stage name Tokyo Fresh. He was bullied as a kid. “When you get bullied, it never goes away,” said Lipscomb. “You start to question yourself and your own confidence, and you start to believe what people are saying. Because if enough people call you stupid, you’re going to start to believe that you’re stupid.”

He says the walk aims to encourage anyone being bullied. Here’s a sampling of his rhymes:

Bullies ain’t cool, bullies ain’t fly Bullies can’t ever have a swagger like I Tokyo Fresh, I do this for the nerds the ones who got teased for knowing all the words

Walkers will hear his rhymes at the event. Organizers say a thousand are expected to fall into step near the Philadelphia Museum of Art today at 2.
