Thieves go after Society Hill historic door-knockers

Blame it on the economy, or maybe a new historic door-knocker trend.

Whatever the reason, door-knockers have gone missing from more than a dozen Society Hill homes.

CBS3 reports the thefts have spiked in the last week an a half, likely due to the promising scrap metal market. In total, 16 homes have reported door-knocker thefts, and apparently it’s an easy crime to commit. Often, the knockers have been stolen without the use of tools.
