The military’s war on women

There is an epidemic of sexual violence in the military — 26,000 assaults in 2012, up from 19,000 in 2011. A small fraction of these assualts are reported, because retribution is so likely and prosecution so unlikely.
It’s bad enough when members of our armed forces have to constantly be alert to the possibility of danger from our country’s enemies. It’s intolerable when constant attention must be paid to the possibility of sexual violence from one’s fellow-soldiers.
