The message to supporters from Delaware’s new Senator-elect

Coons victory was part of democratic sweep through all but the state auditor’s office in Delaware.

Delaware Senator-elect Chris Coons decided to skip the morning network news shows so that he could thank supporters in Wilmington’s famous Libby’s restaurant.

Coons defeated Christine O”Donnell by the double digit margin that many of the polls had predicted he would.  Coons will be sworn-in when the senate comes back from their current recess on November 15th.

During his victory speech at the Double Tree hotel on Tuesday Coons spoke to the issues facing him as the junior senator from Delaware.
