Tentative deal to end Delmarva Power strike

Union members will vote on the new deal on Tuesday.

Delmarva Power workers who have been on strike for more than a week have reached a tentative deal for a new contract that would end their work stoppage.

Members of IBEW Local 1238 will meet on Tuesday to vote on a new contract.  The union has been working under a contract extension since their last deal expired in February.

The company has been using non-union employees and contractors to fill in for the workers who went on strike on Friday, June 18.  Local 1238 represents nearly 800 employees in northern Delaware, northeastern Maryland and Carney’s Point, New Jersey.
