Taste of Philadelphia brings three days’ worth of food to Penn’s Landing

Wawa Welcome America! begins Friday night with a three-day food extravangaza.

Philadelphia’s Fourth of July festivities kick off with this weekend’s Taste of Philadelphia. Sun and food are pretty much what Fourth of July is about (right?), so this event is pretty fitting.

Taste of Philly began at 5 p.m. Friday, and runs through Sunday at Penn’s Landing with live performances from musicians and chefs. Here’s the full schedule.

Some of the city’s best-known restaurants and chefs will be selling their food on the cheap while jazz, blues, gospel and R&B music pumps through the speakers.

If nothing else, it’s a test of stamina for the Fourth.
