Taking aim

Brett Mandel is criticizing Mayor Michael Nutter for his budget management. But instead of issuing a press release or putting himself in front of news cameras, the former City Controller candidate has created a cartoon.

Mandel put together an animated video in which he calls out Nutter for his budget practices. While the cartoon Nutter references his past as a DJ and says “I just have to make it until I am re-elected,” the animated Mandel tells the mayor his short-sighted cuts and tax hikes aren’t working: “The budget is in more red than a Phillies crowd.”

The whole thing is a push to Mandel’s website, where the self-described budget watchdog has prepared a “Full-Monty” Budget.
