Surveillance video released in McMenamins burglary

The Philadelphia Police Department released a description of the prime suspect in a burglary at Mt. Airy landmark McMenamin’s Tavern.

Police report that on Tuesday, August 7 at approximately 2:00am, an unknown male cut a side window screen, then forced open the window and entered McMenamin’s Tavern located at 7170 Germantown Avenue.

Once inside the tavern, the suspect took several power tools which included a Ryobi wet saw, nail guns, a Milwaukee-brand rotary hammer and a DeWalt circular saw and fled in an unknown direction. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $1310 dollars.

The suspect is described as a black male, aged 30-40 years of age, with a thin build and a close-cropped beard. At the time, he was seen wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat.
