State Trooper punched after issuing ticket
A State Trooper was just doing his job when a routine traffic stop turned violent, according to Delaware State Police.
The 26-year-old Trooper had just issued a ticket to 22-year-old Derrick Brock, of New Castle, for parking in the fire lane at Governor Square Shopping Center in Bear. Afterwards, police say Brock cursed out the Trooper and sped off with an infant in the lap of front seat passenger 21-year-old Christina Johnson. The Trooper followed the couple until Brock parked. That’s when police say the trooper tried to arrest Brock and sustained blows to the face and head.
Back up arrived and Brock was arrested and charged with Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer. Christina Johnson was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Arraignment and bail information for the pair are unavailable at this time.
