State of Young Philly

Members of Young Involved Philadelphia participated in a government forum in September inside City Hall as part of its “State of Young Philly: Imagining Philly’s Future” series. The civic-minded youth met with city officials to discuss problem-solving strategies and to “Imagine Philly” as it might look and function in the year 2020. Issues such as job training, public transportation, poverty, crime and education were all addressed during a two-week period that was officially declared “State of Young Philly Weeks” by City Council. This event and more like it were part of an initiative by the group to get young Philadelphians interested and involved in the political process.
