1 stabbed in Pa. during Syria protest

Police in Pennsylvania say a protester was stabbed during a demonstration over unrest in Syria.

Allentown police say a group opposing the reign of Syrian President Bashar Assad organized a protest Sunday afternoon. The Morning Call of Allentown reports a group of counter protesters also showed up and the two groups began shouting at each other.

One protester was injured in a subsequent altercation. Another protester was taken into custody.

Police Capt. Stephen Mould says it’s unclear which sides the perpetrator and victim were on.
