Springfield Ice Rink will re-open in Delaware County
Things are getting icy in Springfield now that the Delaware County town is about ready to re-open its ice rink.
The rink closed in February 2010 after several heavy snowstorms caused cracking in its wooden trusses. Skating will resume in October under a new roof in the enclosed rink, as the Delaware County Times reports.
An insurance settlement yielded the new roof instead of patches to the old one, and energy-efficient lighting and the Springfield blue decor provide the finishing touches.
