Spike in vinyl chloride levels renews shelter-in-place advisory in Paulsboro

Health officials are asking Paulsboro residents to remain inside their home after levels of vinyl chloride in the air remain high from Friday’s train derailment.

An all-clear was issued yesterday but re-issued the shelter-in-place alert last night.

A community meeting to update residents on the clean-up efforts has been cancelled for tonight due to the latest air quality advisory.Officials have called off a public meeting in Paulsboro about the aftermath of a New Jersey train derailment.Schools in Paulsboro are closed today.
