‘Holiday Celebration and Tree-Lighting Spectacular’ may be postponed

Philadelphia’s “Holiday Celebration and Tree-Lighting Spectacular” is scheduled for 5 p.m. this evening, complete with the lighting of the LOVE park Christmas tree.

But have you looked outside lately? Well, so have city officials.

Looks like the extravaganza might be postponed, the Inquirer reports. The report says the heavy rain could mean a switch to Thursday, when conditions should be cooler but clear.

Live entertainment is set to be provided by The Municipal Employees Choral Ensemble (apparently, this exists), with appearances by the Mouse King from Pennsylvania Ballet’s The Nutcracker and characters from a movie based on Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax that’s set to be released in March.
