Shore dwellers may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” this weekend

Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” this weekend.
The Golf Battery 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment is conducting range training this weekend between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. at the base, according to a military press release.
“This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force. As a result of these units performing their important training, residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions,” the release states.
