Severely disabled man found in woods near wheelchair

Police say a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy was found lying in the woods with a wheelchair and a Bible nearby in Southwest Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman said the 21-year-old man was found lying in the leaves covered with a blanket near Cobbs Creek shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

Police described the man as severely disabled and say he “is not able to communicate about how he came to be at that location.”

He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital. Detectives are expected to provide more details later.
