A South Philadelphia SEPTA station on the Broad Street line is getting some upgrades that make it easier to lock up a bike inside the station.

SEPTA’s Becky Collins said they have outfitted Tasker Morris station with more bicycle parking and a narrow tire ramp that runs next to the stairs to make it easier to bring your bike to the underground racks.

“People were doing this but they didn’t have a secure place for their bicycles so they were locking up to everything and anything on the sidewalk.”

Collins said more stations could also get it.

“We are looking at installing additional parking at Spring Garden station, 30th Street Station, Oregon, Ellsworth-Federal and Cecil B Moore.”

The goal is to attract more riders by providing covered, secure spots for bikes that are not left out in the elements.
