Senator wants Christie to give notice for leaves

A bill introduced today by N.J. Sen. Loretta Weinberg requires Gov. Chris Christie to notify legislators in advance on out-of-state travels.

Prompted by a handful of trips Christie made that were only brought to light through leaked recordings, the bill calls on the guv to detail where he’ll be, for how long and why.

NJ.com reports Weinberg’s bill specifies the need for written notification a day in advance so trips are properly documented, and does allow for some privacy for Christie’s personal travels. The bill doesn’t require the names of the people or organizations hosting the political events Christie attends.
