Second PATCO drill scheduled for this afternoon

As this morning’s PATCO drill winds down, another is scheduled for later this afternoon.

Members of the Delaware River Port Authority Police Department’s Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response team will conduct practice operations at Eighth and Market streets from 3 to 6 p.m. today.

“These specialized law enforcement officers in the VIPR Unit continuously train to hone their skills to deter and disrupt any kind of threat to the system for the protection of our customers,” DRPA CEO and PATCO President John J. Matheussen said in a statement released earlier this week.

The morning drill at 12th/13th and Locust was set to wrap up around 9 a.m.
