The second alligator since late May was discovered Tuesday in a Jackson lake.

Fishermen spotted the young two-and-a-half long alligator at the Maple Lake Campground, News 12 reported.

An animal control officer responded and pulled the reptile from the lake with a fishhook, according to the television station.

In late May, a township animal control officer caught an approximately two-foot long alligator from the same lake without incident.

“It is suspected that an area resident had the animal as a pet and as it grew, released it into the lake,” police said in May.
