School safety

What if it’s not enough? That’s the question the Pubic School Notebook is asking about the settlement reached stemming from last year’s attacks against Asian students at South Philadelphia High School.

The School District has agreed to implement new policies moving forward, including multicultural training for students and staff, translation of documents and better reponse to reports of agression.

While the agreement can’t undo what happend last year in South Philly, the Notebook ponders whether the settlement will be effective at all in preventing similar incidents. Several educatiors and professionals say the settlement is a step and nothing more.
