More talks on Rutgers-Camden merger proposal

The governing boards of Rutgers University met Wednesday afternoon to further discuss the proposed merger Rutgers-Camden with Rowan University.

WHYY’s Phil Gregory joined NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller to discuss the meeting and the latest developments.

During the meeting, Rutgers Board of Governors and its Board of Trustees, which operate as separate entities, affirmed a set of princples on the higher education restructuring.

Gregory reports that some on the board showed signs of optimism that a deal could be reached, while one member seemed set on not moving forward unless the proposal changes.
