Rutgers freshman found dead in New Brunswick dorm

    Officials are investigating the death of a Rutgers University freshman found dead in his dorm room on Friday.

    According to The Star-Ledger, Andrew M. Gottfried was found shortly after 9 a.m. in his room in Perry Hall on the Cook Campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

    First responders tried to revive the East Windsor native, but pronounced him dead within minutes of their arrival.

    Gottfried was a pre-business major enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences.

    Authorities report no indication of foul play, but an autopsy is pending.

    The university is providing counselors for students in need of assistance.
