The latest turn in U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner’s Twitter scandal appears at first blush to be among the less troubling details to surface.
The News Journal in Delaware reported this morning that the embattled congressman has admitted to having had online contact with a 17-year-old New Castle County girl. Weiner said he exchanged at least five private Twitter messages earlier this spring, but that the communication was “neither explicit nor indecent.”
Police visited the high school junior’s home on Friday to ask her about her communication with the congressman. The Philadelphia Inquirer confirmed that the authorities say she did not disclose evidence of any illegal activity.
