Rainstorm looms for Sunday

Planning on enjoying the outdoors this weekend?

Do it on Saturday, which will feature sunny skies and mild temperatures in the low 50s.

Then on Sunday, a rainstorm moves up the coast, overspreading the region with heavy rain during the morning and continuing through the overnight hours.

Snow could mix in during the beginning and end of the storm in the elevated terrain in New Jersey as well as the Poconos. “But the overwhelming majority of the precipitation in this event will be rain,” the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, NJ advises in its latest forecast discussion. Forecasters do not mention any street, stream/river, or coastal flooding concerns.
