Questions about validity of Street’s petition signatures

The news came late yesterday that Milton Street faces a challenge to his mayoral campaign. Mayor Michael Nutter’s re-election campaign admits having a hand in the filing — something Street isn’t too worried about.

Street joins council members Frank Rizzo and Marian Tasco, who face challenges for their enrollment in DROP. But the challenge to Street is about ink, not money.

It questions both the validity of the signatures on Street’s petitions and his residential qualifications, alleging only about 30 percent of Street’s 2,400 signatures are valid. He needs 1,000 to get on the ballot.
