A sampling of the best dishes on the northern Ocean County barrier island will be on display this Friday in Lavallette.

The Seaside Rotary Club is hosting “Taste of the Barrier Island” from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Lavallette firehouse on 125 Washington Avenue ($20 in advance and $25 at the door for adults; $10 for children; under 12 free).

“It’s a sampling of some of the best dishes on the island. There will be plenty of food, drinks, music and many door prizes. All local,” said club member Gina Tumolo.

A majority of the proceeds will go toward the Lavallette firefighters, according to Tumolo.

Participating food vendors include Bubba’s Burgers, Crab’s Claw Inn, Bum Rogers, Klee’s, Meg’s Grill, LavaJava, Lenny’s Pizza and Italian Grill, Iceberg, Savor, Capriccio by the Sea, Hemingway’s Cafe, Lavallette Liquors (wine sampling), PJ’s Place, Kohr’s Frozen Custard, and The Original Music Man.

Other vendors will be offering door prizes, including Ben Franklin’s 5 & 10 (gift certificate), My Sister’s Jewelry Box (necklace), Right Coast Surf Shop (stickers and men’s and women’s shirts) Ohana Grill (gift certificate), Christopher Roberts (gift certificate), Lucky Lady (gift certificate), B&B Lavallette (gift certificate), and Chef Mike’s ABG (gift certificate).
