A sampling of the best dishes on the northern Ocean County barrier island will be on display this Friday in Lavallette.

The Seaside Rotary Club is hosting “Taste of the Barrier Island” from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Lavallette firehouse on 125 Washington Avenue ($20 in advance and $25 at the door for adults; $10 for children; under 12 free).

“It’s a sampling of some of the best dishes on the island. There will be plenty of food, drinks, music and many door prizes. All local,” said club member Gina Tumolo.

A majority of the proceeds will go toward the Lavallette firefighters, according to Tumolo.
