Public meeting Wednesday on Oyster Creek Generating Station assessment

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting Wednesday night to discuss the annual assessment of the Oyster Creek Generating Station.

Citizens are invited to the Holiday Inn in Stafford Township to hear about the plant’s safety performance and the NRC’s oversight, Patch reports.
According to NRC logs, the commission spent about 5,200 hours inspecting the plant in 2011.

The current year will bring inspections of Oyster Creek’s plant modifications, radiological waste processing and handling and emergency preparedness.
