Public can watch Philly restaurants’ ‘Nightmares’ this month

The yelling, food-throwing and restaurant shut-downs are long over, but TV viewers can relive them all later this month when the two Philly episodes of “Kitchen Nightmares” air.

Chiarella’s on East Passyunk and Zocalo of West Philadelphia have been remade by TV chef Gordon Ramsay. No stranger to Philly’s food scene, the show reached out to both restaurants and the owners decided the publicity was worth the possible humiliation.
On March 23 and March 30, you can see what menu changes Ramsay made, how the restaurants’ interiors have changed and whether the alterations have lasted.

Or you can just go see for yourself. The taste test is up to you, but owners of both restaurants tell the Inquirer they’ve had more customers since Ramsay left.
