Private funeral today for Gomes, Resorts Casino co-owner
A private service is planned this afternoon for Dennis Gomes, the CEO and co-owner of Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel.
Gomes died last week from what the Associated Press reports were complications from kidney dialysis. He was 68.
Gomes and real estate magnate Morris Bailey bought Resorts in 2010, but Gomes made a name for himself in the gaming world long before then. His work in Las Vegas was chronicled in the 1995 blockbuster movie “Casino.”
A 3 p.m. funeral mass is scheduled at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in the heart of Atlantic City’s casino district. His burial will be private, as well.
