    The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has approved a settlement for a lower rate increase than requested by Peco. As detailed in a report by CBS Philly, the utiity has been granted a increase in its “base distribution” rate for electricity and natural gas.

    Jennifer Kocher of the PUC said that customers can expect an increase of about $5 a month and natural gas customers will see their bills jump about $4 a month.

    The new rates kick in on January 1st.
