Power outage updates

Irene has the lights out for a lot of folks–nearly 5 million homes and businesses in a dozen states are still without electricity, and utilities warned it might be a week or more before some people get their power back.

Here are the latest numbers for our area:

Peco: the utility has restored power to more than 450,000 customers, but 47,000 are still without. Of those, 700 are in Philadelphia.

PSE&G: 99,600 are still dark.

Atlantic City Electric: 34,127

Delmarva Power: 15,667

PPL: 72,000
