Thousands still without power

Irene is behind us, and today is supposed to be an absolutely beautiful day–80 degrees and sunny, and not a stitch of rain ’til Thursday.

We’re still dealing with the aftermath, though:

If you’re commuting today, see our previous post about public transit for this morning.

Power outages are still a big-time issue in Irene’s wake, too: 225,000 Peco customers are still without power, 265,000 for PSE&G, 63,500 for Atlantic City Electric, 45,000 for Delmarva Power and 123,000 for PPL.

We’re updating these numbers as often as we can.

Some schools are closed or delayed, too–here’s a list from 6ABC.

But let’s focus on that beautiful weather!
