Pottstown looking for economic development leader

Wanted: someone to lead Pottstown’s effort to further develop and revitalize the borough’s downtown area, work with taxpayers and attract new businesses.

Thirty-seven people are up to the task.

Borough Manager Jason Bobst says he’s pretty happy with the application turnout for the position with Pottstown Area Industrial Development, Inc. He told Pottstown Patch’s Teresa McMinn final interviews will begin later this summer after a weeding-out process.

The 37 will be whittled down to 10 later this month, then to three or four for the final interview round. Meanwhile, the borough is working on adjusting its zoning laws and plan review process to make Pottstown more attractive to new businesses.
