PolitiFact: Christie off on how many legislators he locked up while U.S. Attorney

How many N.J. legislators went to jail when Gov. Chris Christie was U.S. Attorney?

By his count, 10 percent of the legislature was locked up. PolitiFact disagrees.
Christie’s office charged five Dems while he served in the attorney role, according to PolitiFact. That’s 3 percent. Others who eventually went to jail either did so after they’d left office or after Christie has left his post. Even if you count those, 10 percent is inaccurate.

What’s more interesting is Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak’s response to PolitiFact’s probe. He called Christie’s statement rhetorical, not statistical, and tried to shame PolitiFact for not attending the town hall where Christie dropped the figure.

    Christie’s claim was ruled false.
