Police search for Phillies fans who robbed bank

Phillies fans don’t have the best reputation, and a pair of thieves certainly aren’t helping their case.

Two men, both wearing Phillies hats, robbed the Sovereign Bank branch located at 8623 Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill earlier today. Police are attempting to find the suspects.

Around 1 p.m. the two men entered the bank. One of the men threatened the employees with a shotgun, and the other jumped the teller counter.

After getting their hands on an undisclosed amount of money, the two men fled through the bank’s parking lot. They were last seen getting into a silver sedan, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am.

Both men were described as being 25 to 30 years of age, 5’7” to 5’9” tall, with medium builds. They were both wearing black cloths or masks over their mouths

The men are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the FBI (215-418-4000) or the Philadelphia police.

Makes the Eagles fans who threw snowballs at Santa look pretty tame now, huh?
