Police: Man under the influence ran boat aground in Barnegat Bay, injuring four

    Four were injured, including the operator, when a boat ran aground in the Barnegat Bay Saturday evening in Toms River.

    According to the New Jersey State Police, Jeffrey Sobin, 57, of Warren was charged with operating a boat under the influence.

    Sobin, police said, operated the boat that ran aground near Middle Sedge Island, which is located off Chadwick Beach in the barrier island portion of Toms River.

    All were treated for minor injuries.
