    A Pittsburgh politician has officially announced he’s running for Governor of Pennsylvania next year. Democratic Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato chose Philadelphia as the first stop on his announcement tour, saying he wanted to show that as governor, he’ll respond to problems in the entire state.

Democratic Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato chose Philadelphia as the first stop on his announcement tour, saying he wanted to show that as governor, he’ll respond to problems in the entire state.

    At his kickoff announcement, Onorato tried to dispel any fears he would try to overturn the state’s abortion laws if elected, and that he was willing to listen to gun law changes.

    Onorato: Personally I’m opposed to abortion, but as governor, let me make it clear I will not change the Pennsylvania Law. I also want to make it clear as it relates to gun rights. I support and I recognize sportsman’s rights and individual rights of people to protect themselves. But I also want to make it very clear that I will will support common sense proposals to keep our community safe.

    The Democratic primary might be a crowded one. Former Congressman Joe Hoeffel and Philadelphia Deputy Mayor Tom Knox are just two of up to half a dozen potential candidates on the Democratic side of the ticket.
