No one was injured when a pilot made a rough landing at an Ocean County airport.

Police say the incident occurred at Lakewood Airport around 5 p.m.

It wasn’t immediately known what led to the abnormal landing. Authorities say one passenger accompanied the pilot but have not yet released their identities.

The FAA is investigating the cause.

Lakewood Airport is located just to the west of the Garden State Parkway in the northern Ocean County community. The municipally-owned airfield serves mostly single-engine aircraft.

    This is a developing story.
