Pilot, 9-year-old daughter safe after emergency landing Saturday

    A pilot and his 9-year-old daughter are safe after they made an emergency landing Saturday night in Lancaster County.

    The Mercury reports the two were flying from Smoketown Airport in Lancaster County to New Garden Airport in southern Chester County when their aircraft experienced sudden mechanical problems.

    According to the report, the daughter described feeling a bump before her father told her they would have to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed in a farm field near the village of Gap.
